Hi!  My name is Dr. Jennifer, and I'm a life-long learner.  I enjoy learning new things so that I can teach others.  Teaching has always been a passion of mine.  Growing up, I was a swim technician in the Summer, teaching children and adults how to swim.  I was also a church musician, a student tutor, and the cheerleading captain of my high school squad. As you can see, I was very involved in my community and school activities.  My teaching experience ranges from preschool to adult learning.  I have two children, a daughter (14) and a son (5), both of whom I homeschooled from kindergarten to this year.  I've also taught at the collegiate and corporate level.  No matter the level or age, I love connecting learning to every-day experiences and making learning fun!  I even enjoy changing my hair often to keep life a little interesting :-)

I am also a published author and communication life coach.  My background in communication studies, writing/English, and math have helped me connect with different learners.  Everyone learns differently, and I am always flexible to my student's learning style so that he or she can learn most effectively.

Aside from teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, personal fitness training, making jewelry, studying astrology, meditating, and music.

Samantha L.

Hello! My name is Samantha L. I am from Indiana but have been enjoying Florida for the time being. I'd say that I definitely prefer warm weather over cold weather! What about you? When I am not teaching or tutoring students I love to drive down to the beach and just walk on the sand barefoot, look at the shells and enjoy the atmospheric ambiance along with the ocean waves. Teaching and tutoring have always been intertwined in my life. From when I was in high school and helping students during study period understand things, to helping my nephew and other online students with their classes after school; I have always had a passion to find a way for a student to not just grasp a concept but enjoy the time doing it!

I had many people tutor me as a child and have had various experiences of how they'd help me learn a concept, knowing that learning can seem overwhelming at times I like to try and reciprocate what I have learned is the one tutored, to now, helping the student learn in a fun yet practical way. By teaching and tutoring hundreds of students, it is clear that students learn in a wide range of ways and I try to find what they are passionate about and adapt concepts that need to be comprehended into each tutoring session.

I feel honored to have had, and continue to have the opportunity to teach and tutor students in various states in the USA, various countries around the world, and also at various ages in life. Taking what I have done and continue to do, helps me be a better educator to each child that I tutor or teach.

Ms. Robin

Hello everyone, my name is Ms. Robin. I began teaching and tutoring students of various ages over three years ago when I decided I wanted a career change. Before that, I graduated with my bachelor’s degree from Harvard in 2011 and then started my career in finance and real estate project management. I had a great time doing this work for 8-9 years and then decided I wanted to try something new, so I started tutoring elementary school students, and then progressed to middle and high school students, as well as being a teaching assistant for middle school ELA at a charter school. I discovered what a beautiful thing it is to watch students learn and grow and develop into the people they are meant to be, and I decided to continue doing this work because I enjoyed it so much. In my free time, I love to focus on creating wonderful memories with my friends and family and planning vacations.

Mr. Stefan

Hi! My name is Stefan Coty and I am a Cornell University alum from the class of 2020. Graduating with a Bachelor of Science and completing the pre-physician assistant prerequisites has exposed me to various upper-level science-intensive courses. If I learned anything from my 4 years, it’s that the best sign of topic mastery is the ability to reteach the topic to a person unknowing of the topic. I always loved peer-to-peer learning and found myself leading study groups and helping others excel in our courses. It’s a great feeling to witness someone gain confidence and pride in a subject over time to the extent that they are in a position to teach others as well. My goal is to help the student become a teacher and to develop great study habits that they can take with them through their learning careers. When I’m not tutoring, I love to travel around the US and outside of the country.

  • Bachelor of Science - Biology & Society (Cornell University) Will start attending a PA physician assistant program at Ithaca College later this year

  • Tutored STEM courses at the college level including chemistry, algebra, and biology

Mr. Kenny

Hi I'm Kenny, I went to Archbishop Molloy High School and graduated from St. John's University. I was enrolled in the school of Liberal Arts and Sciences as a Four year Undergraduate Physics Major. As a Physics Major I have an unyielding appreciation for Mathematics as they go hand in hand with one another. It is basically the language used to interpret Physics and is like second nature to me. I understand that this may not be the case for everyone and that Math can be very challenging and rigorous. I wish to help such students realize that Math isn't as intimidating as it may seem, because sometimes all you might need is a change in perspective and try to see things a little differently. I have taken many math courses over the years such as Calculus 1 to 4, Math for Physical Sciences and Ordinary Differential Equations with my Math GPA totaling to a 3.92, so I'm very familiar with the course material. I have +7 years of experience in tutoring algebra 1 through Calculus and have tutored from middle school to adults. I just wish to help students who are struggling with Math and in doing so hopefully give them a higher appreciation for the subject.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics from St. John’s University
  • Mathematics GPA of 3.92 and overall GPA of 3.4

Teaching Experience:

  • Tutoring Math from middle school through college level for over 7 years
  • 3 years tutoring in TACHS

Hi, my name is Anna!

I have a double BA in Music Performance and Poetry from CUNY Brooklyn College and an MFA in Fiction from Columbia University. I have been teaching English, writing, grammar, phonics, and math-- as well as preparing students for SHSAT, ISEE, SAT, and state tests-- since 2013. Over the last two summers, I have taught at TUMO Center for Creative Technologies in Yerevan, Armenia, and led seminars at Columbia's High School Program.

Throughout my teaching practice, I have developed a core philosophy that it's an instructor's responsibility to identify and draw awareness to the unique strengths of each student. Mutual inspiration and trust between student and teacher, as well as sensitivity and flexibility, is essential to helping young people learn.

I'm a teaching artist who is also a writer of poetry, fiction, and personal essays: thus, my areas of expertise are essay composition, literature analysis and creative writing. In my free time, I enjoy reading, baking, and going on long walks in the park with my oversized chihuahua. I'm looking forward to meeting you and working together!

I am looking forward to working with your child to hone their own individual passion for the intersectionalities between literary humanities and arts education.

By day, I am an investigative entertainment reporter with The U.S. Sun and write performance reviews with The Ballet Herald. By night, I am the founder of Project III (People's Performance Project), a non-profit arts initiative dedicated to pushing the boundaries on what defines the concept of movement-based performance. You can also find my fiction published in The Foundationalist and Prospectus Literary Journal.

I was previously a professional ballet dancer and spent four years teaching as an assistant at American Ballet Theatre working with children ages 3-18. I have coached multiple high school and post-graduate students on their college application essays and have had several clients admitted to Columbia University and other top programs. While at Columbia University, I was an editor of Grey Matters, a neuroscience magazine that worked with graduate-level researchers to write narratives that were fun and engaging for high school-level audiences.

I graduated from Columbia University, Columbia College as a Core Scholar and on the Dean's List with a BA in English, Class of 2021. I am looking forward to learning with your child: I always return to my passion for teaching children because I am always humbled by how much I learn from them.

Hi! My name is Alex S. Besides all of the work I just described about my school and coaching, I have a ton of hobbies and interests in life. I am from Denver, CO and love all things outdoors. Hiking, biking, snowboarding you name it and I love it. I have a "whistle while you work" mentality towards life. In everything I do I want to work hard and have fun while doing it. I would to help you or your student with anything I can

Education Background
I am a proud graduate of the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. I graduated with a 3.9 GPA with a major in Disruption Studies. Disruption Studies was a major I founded about the study of change and was the first ever graduate of the program. Additionally, I spent my time on campus writing a thesis on the ethics of artificial intelligence and teaching freshman introductory courses to Disruption Studies.

Teaching Background
My experience with tutoring and coaching has been a lifelong passion project. I spent the past 3 years as the debate coach for Saline High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. During my time there we won one JV and one Varsity state championship. Additionally, during my time at Michigan I taught a class of 30 freshmen about the world of Disruption Studies. I have extensive skills in all things writing, speaking, arguing, and critical thinking.
